Lubrication and metering systems are also used in the plastics industry, agriculture and shipbuilding - where, for example, saltwater-resistant pumps and valves made of brass or stainless steel are used.

In wind turbines, the main bearings and blade bearings can be lubricated in a convenient and automated manner.

In order to reduce wear and noise on rails, sensor-controlled rail lubrication is used directly on the rails and especially in curved areas.

Project examples

Grease lubrication for wind turbines

Development of a convenient grease lubrication system for the main bearings and blade bearings of wind turbines, consisting of a grease supply unit with two separate grease circuits. Each circuit has its own electrically operated piston pump.

In addition, there are two different system cases with integrated grease hoses that have been specially developed for the corresponding wind turbine size. One system case supplies the main bearing, the other supplies the blade bearings with grease.

The unit carriage can be fully raised from the outside, which makes handling at the top of the cab much easier and speeds up maintenance.

Lubrication system on the bucket chain excavator

The challenge was to develop a system for use in harsh working environments in order to withstand the conditions in opencast mining. Seawater-resistant materials ensure long-lasting functionality.

The system continuously supplies all bearing points and joints with lubricant as required. A central control unit monitors and regulates lubricant consumption to ensure optimum performance and lifetime of the excavator components.

This lubrication system improves the uptime and efficiency of the bucket chain excavator and reduces downtime and maintenance costs.

Rail lubrication - Tramway

The lubrication system for railroad tracks efficiently reduces friction and wear on rails and wheels. Strategically installed on curves and heavily loaded sections, these devices spray lubricant precisely onto the rail flanks. Sensors detect wear and load, allowing the system to automatically adjust the lubricant supply.

Refilling and maintenance work is quick and easy to execute.

This lubrication system reduces noise and vibrations, increases the service life of rails and wheels and improves the operational efficiency of the tramway.

The metering valve

The most important component in a centralized lubrication system is the metering valve

Metering valves (dynamic) are used for volumetric delivery of the lubricant to the lubrication points. For exact metering, they must be actuated in pulses by the relevant central lubrication pump. A filter is installed on the inlet side to prevent contamination of the metering valves and the lubrication points.
Metering valves are fitted with a calotte seat and have a metallic sealing (without additional sealant) in the distributor.
Lubrication lines are available in polyamide, aluminum, CU or steel pipe.
